AWARDS EVENING 2017

The UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce & Industry (UKBCCI) announces the winners at its Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2017 and Gala Dinner.

The UKBCCI held its second Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2017 and Gala Dinner at the London Hilton Park Lane, on Sunday 15th October. Hosted by Jennie Bond, the English journalist and television presenter who had worked for fourteen years as the BBC's royal correspondent, the UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) announced its full list of winners

at the prestigious ceremony.

In the presence of over 800 guests, made up of dignitaries, VIPs, MPs and prominent members of the business community, the UKBCCI handed out the awards to a well-deserving list of nominees covering the spectrum of entrepreneurialship. Amongst those attending the awards event were Chief Guest George Freeman MP, Currently Chair of the Prime Ministers Policy Board and Chair of the Conservative Policy Forum, His Excellency Mohammed Nazmul Quaunine, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, Rushanara Ali MP - the most powerful Muslim women in Britain, the MP for Bethnal Green and Bow since 2010, Richard Herrington MP, Julian Knight MP, Amjad Bashir MEP, Paul Scully MP, Rt. Hon Stephen Timms MP, Anne Main MP, Andrew Stephenson MP, Ruzina Hasan, Director, Department of International Trade, John Biggs, Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets Council and Gary Newbon, Sky Sports Correspondent.

Representing the UKBCCI were its Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE, President Bajloor Rashid MBE, various UKBCCI directors as well as members.

“This was our second awards event and I take a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that we have built on the success of our inaugural event that we had last year,” said Rashid representing the UKBCCI. “On behalf of our organisation and its members, I want to extend my congratulations to the award winners and runners up, who thoroughly deserve to have their enterprise and endeavour acknowledged in

such a way. I wish to extend my gratitude to all those who have made this evening an entertaining and wonderful experience, including those people working behind the scenes. Many thanks to our sponsors without whose crucial support the awards could not have taken place. The UKBCCI take immense pleasure in knowing that the business world are seeing the value and guidance that the UKBCCI offer companies and individuals in all their diverse forms”.

The judging panel for the awards was made up of highly eminent names including Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL, Dr Nazia Khanum OBE DL and Dr Zoe Mandich.
