The UKBCCI chose the Radisson Blu Edwardin in Canary Wharf on Monday 22nd July to announce this year’s Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner.
Highly anticipated, the awards has become a prestigious event in the annual business calendar. Celebrating and recognising the achievements and outstanding contributions made by individuals and companies to business and the wider community, the awards will cover a range of sectors and industries across the UK, Bangladesh and even internationally.

The UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce & Industry (UKBCCI), the leading umbrella business organisation, which aims to bring together and nurture successful British-Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in the UK and Bangladesh, is proud to announce the launch of its annual Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2017 and Gala Dinner, to be held on 15th October 2017, at the London Hilton Park Lane.
A prestige event in the annual business calendar, last year’s inaugural awards event was a highly successful, informative and enjoyable occasion, the recognising and celebrating the contribution of businesses to their local and the wider community, whilst at the same time covering a range of sectors and industries across the UK, Bangladesh and even internationally.
Founded by some of the most prominent and philanthropic members of the Bangladeshi community, including the Chairman of the UKBCCI, Iqbal Ahmed OBE, and President Bajloor Rashid MBE, the organisation brings forth the knowledge and experience of these individuals to further enhance their aims and objectives for the benefit of the business community.
UKBCCI assist in inspiring entrepreneurs and businesses by offering advice, sign posting, training and networking through seminars, which are addressed and attended by key government ministers, departments, organisations, various chambers of commerce and personnel from both the UK and Bangladesh. The organisation also has road shows, direct business to business links, programmes and projects. These not only build up confidence in new and existing businesses supported by UKBCCI, but also connect with them both in the UK and Bangladesh.
“The UKBCCI commenced its journey over three years ago and within that relatively short period it has established itself with fortitude and great respect within the business sector,” said UKBCCI President Rashid MBE. “Our inaugural awards last year, which were attended by over 800 guests from the business community along with MPs, VIPs and dignitaries, not only spread our name as an organisation further, it also showed that we are eager to celebrate what entrepreneurs in our community have to offer, whether in the UK or Bangladesh.”

After the resounding success of its inaugural Business Awards last year, the UKBCCI are proud to announce the date of the 2017 Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner. It will take place at the London Hilton – Park Lane on October 15th.

UKBCCI hosted a highly successful press launch of its Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2016 and Gala Dinner being held on 20th November at the London Hilton Park Lane. The press launch, which was held at Bengal Clipper restaurant on Monday 19th September in London’s fashionable, riverside Shad Thames development, was attended by UKBCCI directors, members and a host of VIPs along with members from both the print and broadcast media. “Our awards are a wonderful culmination of everything that UKBCCI has strived for and achieved,” said Bajloor Rashid MBE, President of UKBCCI, “and to have the media and dignitaries recognise that is a very proud moment for me. I’m truly touched by the response we have been receiving even since we first announced the awards and not have we received messages of support from a great many people ranging from those in our community to those from the business world and also MPs.
Esteemed panel of Judges appointed
UKBCCI is pleased to announce that for our Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2016 and Gala Dinner on 20th November 2016, at the London Hilton Park Lane, we have a prominent judging panel. The judges are Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL, founder of Cobra Beer and Chairman of the Cobra Beer Partnership Limited, Dr Nazia Khanum OBE, DL, management consultant and Director of Equality in Diversity, and technology expert Dr Zoe Mandich, who has a wealth of international experience gained at major blue chip companies.
Directors of the UKBCCI attended a meeting this week - 25th August, at HQ to talk through the UKBCCI's Business and Entrepreneur Awards planned for 20th November at the Park Lane Hilton, London. (image below)
